ALLI KIMBALL THE 3A STATE SOFTBALL CHAMPION!!!

Alli Kimball, a signee of Western Washington University, delivered an outstanding performance to lead top-seeded Peninsula to its first-ever state softball title. Kimball pitched a complete-game three-hitter, striking out six batters. She also made a game-changing impact at the plate with a three-run home run. The game concluded as Kimball caught a line drive for the final out!

Despite Snohomish's resilience throughout the season, they couldn't overcome Kimball's dominance. In the Class 3A state championship game, Kimball's exceptional pitching and timely hitting secured a 4-1 victory for Peninsula. Snohomish settled for second place, falling short against the formidable opponent.

Fittingly, the game ended on Kimball snaring a line drive back to the mound for the final out as she tossed her glove up and ran toward teammates and coaches.

"She won the game," Seahawks softball coach Mike Paul said. "She threw lights-out. She caps it with a home run. Are you kidding me?"

Peninsula then dealt the decisive blow in the top of the sixth. After Hailey Ruckle led off with a bloop single, Glory Estabrook hit a grounder that could have been a double play. However, an errant exchange at second base left both runners safe.

Two batters later, Kimball hit a high fly to left. Snohomish left fielder Kendel Sage nearly made a game-saving catch at the fence, but instead toppled over the fence during her attempt. The ball glanced off her glove as she fell over the fence for what proved to be the game-winning three-run homer.
