Kimball's Hands on Detailing and Auto Accessories was founded in January 2019. As a family that loves to maintain the cleanliness and gloss of our vehicles, we moved forward and started our family business! We wanted to start something that Joey could be a part of and have a business to call his own.

The story of how we became a licensed and insured business has been shared many times on our journey. We had been working out of our garage and were not licensed or insured. Kimballs was growing so fast that one night, Kody went into our home office and about an hour later he came out and said “We are now a fully licensed and insured LLC.” For a while, we worked out of our garage until we purchased a 16’ enclosed trailer and went mobile. That lasted a bit but again, we were growing so fast that we decided to get a fixed location. One night I was scrolling on Craigslist and looked up Detail Shop in Pierce County.

Lo and behold, the first post said “Detail Shop on Kimball Drive in Gig Harbor for sale.” We took that as a sign from above and a month later we opened a brick and mortar. Fast forward to today, we now have our shop, 8 full-time employees, over 10 different contractors, and a Marketing and media manager. Kimballs is a certified Carpro Ceramic company and also a P&S Detail Products Distributor!

We are committed to being lifelong learners and are so grateful for being able to serve our amazing Gig Harbor and beyond community!

Joe Kimball

Owner\General Manager

IDA CD/SV, Master Detailer, Marketing Assistant, trained and certified in numerous ceramic coatings, Certified in Paint Protection film. Trained and certified with 35 Years of Paint Correction experience.

Joe comes to the business with over 35 years experience in auto detailing. Being able to work with family is of the utmost importance to him. After working many years in construction, he decided it was time to follow his true passion of auto detailing and building something their family can call their own!

Kody Kimball

Owner\CFO

IDA CD\SV trained and certified in numerous ceramic coatings, Stek Certified Paint Protection Film installer, certified with over 5 years in Paint Correction. 

Kody is a recent graduate of Grand Canyon University, where he majored in Business Management. After completing his Bachelors, as well as his Associates Degree, he decided it was time to start the family business and follow his true passion of working on vehicles.

Shari Kimball

After 20+ years in the hotel sales and catering industry I wanted to join the family business!  I enjoy spending time on the boat with my family and watching Alli play softball.

Joey is 20 and has a superpower! His Autism! 

He is a recent 2021 graduate of Peninsula High School. He loves being at the shop working and interacting with customers. You’ll usually find him vacuuming, drying vehicles or joking with all the employees to keep them smiling.

Curtis Staples

Detail Technician

IDA CD\SV, Certified in numerous ceramic coatings, over 4 years of Paint Correction experience

Curtis is a 2020 graduate from Peninsula High School. He has been an avid fan of detailing cars ever since he first learned to drive. Outside of working on cars, his hobbies include outdoor activities, such as mountain biking, as well as playing musical instruments.

Alli Kimball

Owner

Detail Technician

Alli is 17 years old and goes to Peninsula High School. She plays Fastpitch and Unified Basketball for her school, while also competing on a select fastpitch team called the Washington Acers. She recently committed to futher her education and athletic career at Western Washington University!   Alli works mostly in the front office, but she also helps with detailing work ranging from doing interiors to polishing vehicles.

April Ehrenheim

Assistant General Manager

IDA CD\SV, Interior Detail Technician, certified in numerous interior coatings and ceramic coatings

April is a mother of three boys and her oldest son is autistic. Since grade school she has always been a supporter and a friend to those that have disabilities. April is very creative and passionate about her work and family. She loves using her creativity to find new ways to implement a fun and safe environment for employees and customers. She's very dedicated, outgoing, and always ready to start the day with a smile. April supports any company that is trying to raise awareness, not just for autism, but for all disabilities.

Kyle Smyth

Lead ceramic installer

IDA CD\SV, Certified in numerous ceramic coatings, Stek Certified for Paint Protection Film, Over 5 years Paint Correction Experience

Kyle is a graduate from Gig Harbor High School and Washington State University, where he obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Outside of work, Kyle enjoys skateboarding, listening to music, and spending time outdoors.

Kaira Cabato

Marketing and Media Manager

Kaira graduated from Bethune Cookman University with a degree in Mass Communications with an emphasis on Public Relations and Advertising. Kaira played softball for over 15 years and continues to train locally. She created her Marketing business called KC Media & Marketing offering marketing, social media marketing, content creation and much more!
